Seize the Stars

Ten thousand years in the future, humanity has claimed the stars... but all is not well. If the Empire is to survive, it needs a strong leader - that means you! You must build a power-base, networking with important guilds to gain their support.

Create a board from tiles representing the six guilds. Each round, you place agents within those guilds to form an ever-changing network. Adapt your network to gain support or slander your opponents using cards in your hand.

The idea of the game is to gain influence in the six guilds. The person with the most influence after ten rounds is the winner. Well worth buying this while you can as the original company no longer exists. Really nicely made game, well thought out. A good game for 2-4 players, easy to learn, can play quite quickly with interesting game play as you manipulate the board for your own ends.

This is another great game from Reiver Games that is easy to get into, a lot of fun to play, yet offers quite a strategic game playable in around an hour.

During your turn you have 5 phases:
1. Pay a credit add two cards to your hand, then discard 2 cards. This is useful if you have cards that don't match up to the current event, for example.
2. Pay a credit and add a tile to the board. You might want to do this for example, to get a guild into play so that you can connect to it more easily.
3. Place 2 of your 5 agents onto guilds ready for the next phase to try and gain influence with them and even gain credits if those guilds are on the current event card. You can play more than 2 agents, but this will cost you more credits.
4. After placing your agents, reveal cards from your hand to show which guilds you have connected to and either gain influence and/or gain credits.
5. Finally, you make your hand back up to 2 cards.

After ten rounds of this, final scoring takes place and players with the most influence in each of the 6 guilds score points with most points winning.

This game is a lot of fun to play and quite interactive with a lot of choices for such a short game.

Another well produced game from Reiver Games the quality of materials in this game are very good and the artwork is superb. The players vie with each other to build a network of support amongst powerful guilds in order to become the new Emperor of the galaxy. Players add agents onto the board to build a network to match the guilds required on either networking cards or slander cards. Networking cards once completed win you support from one of the guilds depicted on them, slander cards allow you to take support from one of the guilds depicted on it from another player.

After the first round there are event cards which give rewards for completed cards with matching guilds this comes as either monetary gain or additional cards into your hand which can be useful. Players can also add additional tiles onto the board to help complete their network or turn existing tiles 180deg.

This game relatively easy to pick up but is one of those games where the tactics and strategies will take some time to learn and master. I thought this was an extremely fun game to play and it will be a much played addition to my collection. I bought this not having played or seen it played but purely because it was from Reiver Games and I have not been disappointed.

I would recommend this to anyone as a worthy addition to their collection.
